Short Wavelength Automated Perimetry, or SWAP, is a specialised visual field test that can detect early nerve damage from glaucoma, often before it would be picked up on a standard visual field test.

Treatment and Process

The test uses blue light stimuli on a yellow background to more sensitively assess the visual field in both eyes, following a similar process to standard perimetry but targeting the specific nerve fibres affected earliest in glaucoma.
